Integrated Appliance Installation Service
Wet Appliances
When you buy an integrated washing machine, washer dryer, or dishwasher from us, we can install it for you for £60. We’ll connect the appliance to the water and waste pipes, switch it on, and do a test wash to make sure it’s all working properly. For a further £5 we can dispose of your disconnected and drained old machine.
Conditions of this service
-
Your water and electricity connections must be within one metre of the installation point for us to carry out this service.
-
It must be possible to turn off your mains water.
-
There needs to be adequate water pressure.
-
The installation shouldn’t be in a bathroom, toilet or unheated outbuilding.
-
If your appliance is going under a counter, please check that there’s at least a gap of 87cm between the floor and the underside of the worktop.
Cooking Appliances
We can connect an integrated/built-under electric (£60) or gas (£85) oven. We can install an electric or induction hob for £60, or a gas hob for £85. We’ll disconnect your old appliance (regardless of fuel type), connect your new one, and give you a basic demonstration of your new appliance.
Extractor or circulatory-type cooker hoods can be installed for £60. We’ll disconnect your old hood as part of this service as long as it involves changing like for like. For an extractor, we’ll connect the hood to an existing extractor fan and the correct ducting. For a further £5 we’ll remove and dispose of your old appliance for recycling .
Conditions of this service
-
We’re unable to cut back work tops and remove carcasses to allow the change from an old integrated appliance to your new freestanding model
-
We can only connect your new appliance to an existing electric and/or gas supply within 1.5 metres of the installation location, with an accessible isolation switch
-
For electric and induction hobs and electric cookers, there must be an adequate electrical supply based on manufacturer’s recommendations
-
There must also be an adequate gap (as per the manufacturer’s recommendations) between the heat source and whatever is above it in your kitchen.
-
There can be no combustible materials (including paper, wood and Formica) to the rear of the heat source
-
If your worktop does need to be altered for a hob, we’re only able to do this if it’s wood-based as we’re unable to alter corinth, granite or ceramic worktops
-
For gas hobs and gas or dual fuel cookers, if the product is destined for a flat, multi-user dwelling or shared occupancy building (including where a single room is let out), the item must have a Flame Suppressant Device (FSD)
-
The existing gas supply must be within 1.5m of the installation location and a 13amp electric supply within a metre
-
If you have a conservatory to the rear of the kitchen, this must have an air brick in the wall or additional ventilation
-
Our installers will have to interrupt your gas supply to allow a safe installation, so we’ll endeavour to restart any gas appliances in your home. However, please note that we’re not responsible for any appliance that fails to restart, including central heating and gas boilers.
-
For integrated ovens, the housing must be ready-assembled and be the correct dimensions for the new product, as we’re unable to undertake carpentry to amend existing carcasses.
-
For both extractor and circulatory type cooker hoods, the 13amp electricity supply must be within a metre of the installation location
-
For an extractor, we’ll connect the hood to an existing extractor fan and the correct ducting; as this is not supplied, you must already have the correct type and size of ducting kit. The aperture must be the correct dimensions for the hood, and for both types of hood the wall or ceiling must be of suitable construction to bear the weight. We won’t expand or reduce vent holes, or install a hood where this might contravene the requirements of nearby appliances.
Refrigerated Appliances
When you buy an integrated fridge or freezer from us, for £60 we can install it for you (for integrated/built-in combi fridge freezer the charge is £85). We’ll connect the appliance, switch it on to make sure it’s all working properly. If you buy an integrated refrigerated appliance from us, and you need to reverse the door/s to get the best fit in your kitchen, we can do that for you for £25. For a further £5 we’ll remove and dispose of your old appliance for recycling .
